This is NOT okay.

Recently, I have a couple of acquaintances (I wouldn't call them friends, we're not that close just yet) who had the audacity to lecture me about messaging and replying back to them. 

Uhhh okay. There's going to be a couple of reasons why I don't message back and why I'm ranting about how this is not okay. At least to me, everyone else has their own reasons.

First of all, I'm just busy and sometimes I only focus on one thing which is usually my work. So if I thought I messaged/texted you back but I actually didn't then I apologize. But please understand that my first priority should be getting my stuff done that way I can have more free time to actually talk to you.

Second of all, if I simply just don't message you, it's because I don't want to bother you. At all. I'm literally one of those people who will talk to you, if you talk to me first. And this is true about 95 percent of the time. The other five percent, I become the person who talks to you first for a number of reasons: One, I actually debate with myself and decided to take a chance and message you. Two, I am having an emergency that requires your assistance in some form or another. Three, I have something to discuss with you and this cannot be held off whatsoever. I suppose that could count as an emergency, but it's also different because it's not really as urgent as I try to make it to be. 
All in all, I don't like bothering people, they're probably busy, in a bad mood, or having a really fun day and I don't want to be that person who somehow messes that up or be that person who bothers them when they rather be, again, having a fun day. That's just all I am, live with it.

Lastly, there are certain circumstances that causes me to not message you back at all, such as a power outage or my internet being abruptly cut off. That is something I cannot control and you're going to have to live with that. So basically, I'll message you when I can. So stop bugging me UNLESS I say you can bug me.

I just find it really irritating that I have people kind of threatening me about this kind of stuff. ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD and you can literally talk to tons of other people than me. I am NOT the most reliable person to talk to. 
Don't threaten people, over something stupid such as lack of communication. Sure, we need to IMPROVE IT, but I don't believe you should threaten them to the extreme. That is not okay.
